Saree the Nine Yard wonder has been a quintessential part of the Indian Lady.But now it has created a place for itself in the international level.

                                                                        Saree especially the handloom ones are a fashion statement now.so let's get down and briefly see how these master pieces are created and the process involved in making them.

 

Raw Yarn De-Gumming

This is the very first step involved where the raw yarn is put into boiling water to remove the gum.

Dyeing / Coloring

The next step is to dye or color the yarn.The color can be either vegetable color or chemical color.Vegetable dye is gaining popularity because it is eco-friendly and secondly people who are allergic to chemicals prefer it because it has got no side effects.

Warp / Weft

The diversification for Odissi handloom is done here at this stage.The raw yarn after getting degummed and dyed is woven now.This Weaving can be simple weaving or traditional weaving or it can be the combination of both or it can be jalla weaving or tie and dye ,or it can be combination of both.
